Balanoposthitis : Causes,Symptoms and Treatment

Balanitis Ka Upchaar-

What is Balanoposthitis?

Balanitis is an inflammation of the end of the penis (mucus). Often, swelling of the upper skin also occurs with the glans. (The upper skin is actually loose skin covering the glans of the penis if you have not undergone circumcision.) Balanitis is a common disease and can occur at any age. It usually affects boys under 4 years of age, as well as men who have not undergone circumcision. About one in 25 boys and one in 30 uncircumcised men are affected by balanitis at some point in their lives. This is very uncommon in men who have been circumcised.

What is the symptom of Balanoposthitis?

The most common symptoms include redness, itching, and pain at the upper end of the penis. It can range from a small patch on the skin of the glans to red, inflamed, and sore of the entire glans. Sometimes there is also a heavy and unsightly discharge that comes out from under the foreskin. It may be impossible to pull the upper part of the foreskin. You may also experience pain or discomfort while urinating.

How is Balanoposthitis Treated?

The Cause of Penis Pain

A doctor can easily diagnose balanitis by looking at the red and swollen penis head. In some cases, possible causes can be identified by looking only. For example, the inflammation caused by candida often looks quite common. Therefore, in some cases your doctor is able to diagnose the cause and consult directly about treatment. If your doctor is not sure about the cause, or does not stop the balanitis after treatment, one or more of the following tests may be suggested:

  • Obtain a sample using a small ball of cotton wool attached to the end of a thin rod (a swab). This sample is used to look for some microbes (bacteria) that can cause infection.
  • If in doubt, a test may be performed to confirm diabetes.
  • If an STI is a suspected cause, it may be referred to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic.
  • A dermatologist may be referred to if a skin condition or allergy is suspected. An allergy test may be advised if an allergy is suspected.
  • Rarely, if inflammation persists, removing a small sample of the inflamed skin tissue (a biopsy) (removal of a small sample of inflamed skin tissue (biopsy) may be suggested)) under a microscope. Sample can be taken for This can help in detecting the cause.

What is the treatment for Balanoposthitis?

  • Do not use soap if there is swelling. You can use a moisturizing cream or ointment to clean it instead of soap.
  • Use lukewarm water to clean your penis and then dry it gently.
  • Some people find the salt bath to be soothing while the treatment is taking effect.

Treatment depends on the cause of the balance. Often the following treatments are done

  • An anti-yeast cream or a course of anti-yeast tablets (a course of anti-yeast cream or anti-yeast tablet) is a common treatment for balances caused by Candida.
  • Antibiotics (antibiotics) are helpful in clearing infections caused by germs (bacteria), including some STIs.
  • A mild steroid cream is useful to reduce the swelling of balanitis caused by allergies or irritation. Sometimes steroid creams are used in addition to anti-yeast or antibiotics to reduce inflammation due to infection. (Note: Steroid creams should not be used only if there is an infection on the tip of the penis (because the steroids can worsen the infection.)

If you have frequent balances and a situation where you cannot pull the upper skin back (retract) from the top of the glans (phimosis), then circumcised to remove the foreskin (upper skin) as an alternative. Circumcision must be done to remove). If this is the case, your doctor will refer you to a doctor who will be a specialist to discuss this in more detail.
