What does it mean to have a yellow color of semen

The semen consists of the main male reproductive cells (sperm). According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the average amount of normal semen is more than 2 ml. It should have sperm concentration- at least 20 million sperm per mL. Also, according to morphology, there should be at least 15 percent of normal sperm that grow. Generally, semen is a nutritious fluid that is white-milky (whitish-gray in color) and clear in color. It is thick, viscous and has a pH (acidity) level between 7.8 and 8.0. Semen also contains some white blood cells (leukocytes).

Because many glands and reproductive organs are responsible for the formation and release of semen, the color of semen may change if there is any problem in any of these responsible organs. In some men this happens occasionally, while in some it is frequent.

Although this phenomenon is not always a cause for concern, in some the semen color change may be indicative of an underlying medical condition.

What causes semen to be of different colour ?

Semen is a combination of secretions from the male reproductive glands and sperms. Changes and disintegration in these areas can cause colour changes.

The following are responsible for semen production:

Epididymis and testicles

The testicles or testicles are the organs responsible for the production of sperm. Epididymis is the tube that transfers sperm from the testicle to the vas different.

Seminal vesicle

They produce a significant part of the volume of semen. These glands produce secretions that are high in sugar called sugars, and provide nutrients to sperm.

Prostate gland

This gland produces a chemical prostate-specific antigen (PSA) that reacts in the gel-like semen, allowing the sperm to float and reach a more readily available egg.

Bulbourethral and urethral glands

These glands are responsible for creating secretions that make it easier for semen to travel along the reproductive tract.

All these organs and glands play a role in each ejaculation. In any of these diseases, the color of semen can change from normal to normal. It is advisable to see a doctor to find out the exact reason.

Due to yellow semen

Although the semen is usually of a white-brown color, sperm may be yellow in some males. But if earlier the seaman was white-gray but now its color has changed, then it can be cause for concern.

Some possible causes associated with yellow semen include:

Urine in semen

The semen exits through the urethra. The urethra or urethra is the tube from which urine is drawn out of the body. It is possible that the seaman may mix with semen, which makes the color of the seaman yellow.

Jaundice

Jaundice most commonly has yellow color in the eyes but the skin and semen may also appear yellow.

Abnormally high white blood cells

Inflammation may produce more white blood cells. These can be released through semen, known as pyospermia or leukocytospermia pyospermia or leukocytospermia. Excess white blood cells may make the semen appear yellow. This may be the result of infection.

ST I

Sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia, herpes, or gonorrhea can be the cause of yellow semen. In this example, a person’s semen may also have an unpleasant odor.

Diet change

Eating foods, such as garlic, onion, asparagus or broccoli, may cause yellow semen. The smell of semen can also change.

Prolonged ejaculation

The color of semen may change even if there is no ejaculation for a long time.

Other Color Semen

Semen can also be other colors. Some other possible colors may change, which may include a person:

Brown or Red Brown or red Semen

Sometimes the semen may turn brownish-red due to blood vessel leaking near the seminal vesicle. If the semen remains red for 1 – 2 days then the person should seek treatment.
